Hi! The purpose of this website is to a) provide a source of mac shareware games, and b) not to churn up heaps of ram doing so. So as much as I would like to, I am putting no images on this page (apart from the banners I have to put up), and no java, etc. It should work on any browser with HTTP1.0 and HTML1.0, that is to say, any browser. The games are not more than 3mb unless they are very, crazily, awfully good. None of these games need power mac (I don't have one, and can't be stuffed downloading stuff I won't use).
Title: Asterax
Version: 1.2
Size (compressed): 626k
Vendor: Arvandor AoftwareEmail
Description: Asterax is a beautifully 3d rendered version of asteroids with brilliantly smooth animation and a great two player mode. It also has crystals that come out of rocks that you can buy engines, weapons, shields, etc. with. You have a choice of 3 ships, which can all be upgraded. A great piece of software.

Title: Avara
Version: 1.0.0
Size (compressed): 2292k
Vendor: Ambrosia
Description: Avara is a true 3D environment. Unlike other 3D games, Avara allows for the third dimension to be fully realized. You can jump, alter your pitch (the back and forward rotation of your head) and, in short, do whatever you want. You drive a HECTOR, and recieve missions with objectives. This can be played over a LAN or the Internet. If you thought the navigation was powerful in MechWarrior, try Avara.

Title: Bubble Trouble
Version: 1.0.0
Size (compressed): 2,040k
Vendor:Ambrosia
Description: Similar in concept to Bubble Bobble, Bubble Trouble is an excellently done arcade game, and an addictive one at that. You are a fish, and you have to push blocks into sea animals against the clock, gaining bonuses and listening to wacky sound effects. Believe me, the concept grows on you. A must-have.

Title: Chiral
Version: 1.0.4
Size (compressed): 2109k
Vendor: Ambrosia
Description: Yet another game from Ambrosia, and it's a goodie. You have a black playing field, and a test tube. At regular intervals, atoms drop down into the test tube (they're magnified for viewing convenience) and you have to place them on the board. If you place two atoms beside each other, they automatically bond. Each type of atom will bond a certain number of times only. Then it's "satisfied". When you have a self satisfying chain, it disappears. If the tube fills up you lose a sczapp. If you're out of sczapps, you lose. A very addictive arcade game.

Title: Delirium
Version: 1.2
Size (compressed): 380k
Vendor: Tuan Huynh
Description: Delirium is an arcade game where the object is to kill all the aliens. Sounds familiar? Wait. The game is played over a panorama of about 2 1/2 screenwidths. Resting on the terrain are humanoids, that the green aliens try to pick up. Shoot the green aliens, catch the humanoids when they're dropped, and get the assasins before they get you. There is also an interesting part when you go into hyperspace.

Title: Domewars
Version: 1.2
Size (compressed): 1,256k
Vendor: Nathan Sturtevant
Description: The goal of the game is to be victorious in battle over the other tanks (domes). Each dome is started in a location across the canyon floor. By varying the angle and the power used, attempt to destroy the other tanks on the screen. Points and cash are awarded according to your performance during the play, which can then be used to buy new weapons. Very like Scorched Earth for (gasp) the PC.

Title: GravityBalls
Version: 1.0
Size (compressed): 183k
Vendor: Silicon Creek Software Email
Description: The object of Gravity Balls is to keep your ball within the yellow rectangle by using the mouse. If the mouse is in the window, the ball will be repelled from it. If you can keep the ball from leaving the target rectangle for 8 seconds, you will advance to the next level, which will be faster and have a smaller target rectangle.

Title: Guy Smiley vs. The Monsters
Version: 1.0.1
Size (compressed): 38k
Vendor: Reid PriedhorskyEmail
Description: You control Guy Smiley, and your mission is to reach the other side of the board. Blocking your way are a number of demons, which move toward you each time you make a move. Neither you nor the demons can move diagonally. There is also rubble. Not exactly heart-stopping, but a nice diversion.

Title: MacBrickout
Version: 3.1
Size (compressed): 414k
Vendor: Leapfrog SoftwareEmail
Description: MacBrickout is THE brick game for the mac. If you never liked brick games then this is not for you, but if you do this is the ultimate. Capsules drop down, speeding, slowing down, or multiplying the ball, making the paddle sticky, move-up-and-downable, bigger, smaller, useless, giving extra lives, etc. A great breakout game

Title: Maelstrom
Version: 1.4.3
Size (compressed): 944k
Vendor: Ambrosia
Description: Remember the big, old, asteroid games? If so, you're a bit older than me, but this game is still a great asteroids game. 3d graphics, digitized sound, and smooth movement restore new life without substantially changing gameplay.

Title: Prometheus
1770k Version: 1.0
Size (compressed):
Vendor: Quarter Note Software
Description: Prometheus is an arcade game similar to the original arcade game, Qix. The rules are very simple, and yet they produce vey complex strategies. You are a little "X". You must capture as much board space as possible, by moving along from one edge to another, tracing a path. Once an area is completely enclosed, it's yours. Unfortunately, there are also firestix, guys who move around the middle of the board, and sparx, who move around the edges. Heck, you really have to play this one!

Title: Sokoban
Version: 2.0
Size (compressed): 72k
Vendor: Scott Lindhurst
Description: In Sokoban, you are trying to get treasure chests through a maze to their proper locations. The chests are so heavy that you can only push them one at a time. Be careful that you dont get a chest trapped in a corner; the chests have no handles so they cant be pulled at all. This game has a small file size, extremely challenging levels, and you can make your own levels too! A good brain-teaser.

Title: Step On It! Demo
Version: 1.0
Size (compressed):
Vendor: Casady and Greene
Description: What can I say! This has got to be the best combination of arcade action, strategy, and brilliant images and sounds ever! (Apart from the full vesion, of course =) Ted is trapped in a maze world of blocks that looks like a toy set gone crazy. Ted can use his powers to make toy blocks out of thin air. He can also smash the blocks, causing them to disappear and leave openings in the maze. Players control Ted through the block maze to reach and capture the key before charging through the enchanted door and into the next level. Ted must also duck the smiley faces, hippos, cannons and many more nasties. In addition, great co-operative, and masterful competitive play make this game well worth the download time.
